They're different games. FG is a stand-alone sequel to G3 by a different developer.
If you want the best experience then get Gothic 3, it has the most content and more love went into making it.

It's kind of an oddball since G3 finished the series' story.
FG is a non-canon sequel that continues from where G3 left of. See it like a bad fan-fiction.

As far as I know, PB accepted FG as a a canon, for a Addanos way at least(there might be other ways). But stay away from it now, eventually, when you have money and don't know what to do with it, then eventually you may buy this. But after Gothic 3 you will experience loss of quality while playing FG.

If you would read the info on this game it is Gothic 3 but with enhanced graphics and they added more weapons to the game. PB are the origional creaters of this series they where fed up with Jowoo when they released the first Gothic 3 when it was not finished yet so PB left Jowoo publishing company. So another words this is the finish version of Gothic 3.

No it's not. Forsaken Gods is a stand-alone sequel to Gothic 3 with a new story and a lot less content then Gothic 3. Let alone better graphics.

PB broke with Jowood because they pushed for G3 to be released too early, resulting in a buggy mess of a game to be released that was eventually patched by the community.
