MX Bikes

MX Bikes Disappointment
We purchased a gaming PC for my son for his birthday for the sole purpose of him wanting to play MX Bikes. We are not gamers but I can typically research and watch videos to get things done which is what I had to do from the beginning of downloading MX Bikes. I went through downloaded all the oem bike mods, all the tracks he wants and gear. But all he has ever been able to do is freeride. Anytime he has tried to join a server to race we get connection timeout error or bike mismatch error or some other error the will not allow him to race. Unless you are a gamer or very knowledgeable about PC don't bother with the game. At this point I would pay somebody to come in and get it setup just so he could race as we are $1k in on just being able to play this game and probably 20 hours of my time researching and he still can't race.

The connection timeout is a known issue that can be the other end and not you, but if you get a mismatch you are getting connected to at least some servers ok, so you're probably fine there. Mismatches however are the the most common issue players face with MXBikes. It's caused mostly by the wrong version of the OEM bikes being downloaded.
Currently this is the latest OEM pack you need to get online - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eMTfPYr0zY7gE38_9ShKXWcwUGnuOy8K/view

Before extracting this, clear the bikes and tyres folders in mods.

Awesome. Thanks for the advise. I cleared all of his oem bikes and downloaded the new oem pack. All the new bikes are up and running and i also cleared the tyres forlder and loaded the new tyres pack but now I am getting mismatch tyre p_mx when trying to join a race. Ive cleared the tyres folder a few times and tried reloading them but everytime I get the same tyre mismatch error. Anyway you could help out just a little more on this would be greatly appreciated.

You need to also download the newest OEM tyres off the website, they are at the bottom of the page. Otherwise you will keep getting the tyre mismatch error

Did you ever place or remove any bike or tyres from the install directory? Might be worth a Steam game files verify, and possibly rename your install folder and verify again.
