"Connection Timeout" is a known issue. It usually appears when trying to join servers outside your region, like EU -> US due to your ISP regulations for outbound connections or to missing open ports on your router. This also occurs more often when you or your friends host a "Host World" server. But it can also happen on dedicated servers.
Usually when joining servers that have a "---" in the ping column, the game will greet you with below error message.
A known workaround is using a VPN such as ProtonVPN.
Other than that you should most likely join servers that have a number in the ping column. This is the indicator for a healthy connection to said server.
Reset your router, power it off for 2 mins.
