Character Conversation Bug- Help is appreciated

Basically i pressed to sppech to an npc and it wouldnt let me exit out of the conversation i had to end the exe maybe i was just pressing wrong buttons help is greatly appreciated - Hwelly

Does it happens when talking to all the NPC's?
Does it shows the dialogue options at all?

This tends to happen if you are trying to do other things like (un)sheating your weapon, opening your inventory ect. when talking to an NPC.

im getting used to the controls the 87 hours are cause i didnt know how to end the exe i might have accidently opened my invo while speaking

Gothic 1 is a really old game so it can have annoying bugs that might accure.
I've played this game alot and i'm still loving it and yes i agree controlls is just getting used to but once you know it it goes smooth and fast.
Also as a fellow Gothic player :p these are the controlls to pick items faster (if you didn't know yet): When your looting a chest just go to the item you want and press either jump buttom (10 items of the same kind @ once) or Jump buttom for 100 items of the same kind. Higher than that aint possible :p

As for the bugs that can accurr here are some:
Char keep running while while your talking to a char - To fix this you have to reboot save file or use marvin mode to exit this bug. (code for marvin mode = c marvin c )(no spaces)

There is a Shadow Guard in the old camp that can keep asking you for protection ore (can't recall his name) - Not sure how i fixed this one but i don't have it anymore :p

Later in the game you might get an error saying an Orc Axe or something is missing and crashes (most of the time when crossing the brigde to the immortal shaman) - To fix this go to your Steam>Steamapps>Common>Gothic>System and go into the Ini file and turn soundenable off then get passed that point save again and turn it back on and it won't crash anymore for some reason.

When attacking mobs it might appear @ first sight that you don't do any kind of damage (Mine Crawlers etc) but just keep attacking by spamming left , right , left , right or make a combo :)
Recommend one or two handed weapon lv 2 :)

If you get Acess Violation go to your Steam go to the game right click and then properties and turn off Steam Community it should work then :)

To defeat the crawler Queen use either magic scrolls to kill it or use weapon by swinning weapon from left to right but keep in mind that 1 miss shot can become fetal just walk backwards if you got hit or to dodge his attack :)

This game is till today still one of the best RPG games i've played :)

This bug appeared to me everytime after a dialogue in chapter 4 (no spoiler).

I can exit the game with SHIFT + ESC but the bug appeared every single time i tried again.

I solved this by enter marvin mode "bmarvinb" then opening the console with F2 and type "save game". Then I exit the game with SHIFT + ESC. After restarting i can load savegame 1 and continue playing. Caution: This overwrites your first savegame in list.
