For combat, pressing tilde (~) will let you enter combat stance while unarmed. Pressing spacebar will draw the weapon you have equipped, and pressing it again will sheath it. While in combat stance, your strafing will be more quick, and holding Ctrl will allow you to attack/defend when using movement keys. Such as, Ctrl+W will let you do a gap-closing forward attack, Ctrl+A/D will let you to sweeps, and Ctrl+S will let you block for a very brief moment.
