Switch edition improvements

Hello, did Gothic 1 on Steam ever receive the improvements included in the Switch release from last year?

No, Switch improvements haven't been added to the Steam version of the game yet. The patch is still planned, but there is no ETA.

Any idea what the hold up is? Technical issues? Focus on remake? Some sort of limited time exclusivity for switch?

There is no hold up, since we haven't ever announced the date for the patch/update. We have our internal release plan for such things and all goes according to this plan.

Yeah, thats fair. Are you able to elaborate at all though? Been a year since the switch release and i think all most of us waiting want is some clarity, not to rush ya'll.

Probably an exclusive deal with Nintendo or they don't really want mess up financially the remake on the horizon. I wouldn't really bet on these improvements coming to pc in a year or 2 even.
Real shame you can't experience the original game on modern systems natively (Steam Deck is like the perfect platform atm). Remake is cool and all but doesn't really scratch the itch.
