Then install the game, install Union for Gothic and try out the DX11 renderer in the workshop here. Then try to run the game again.
If it works make a copy of that folder before you apply any other stuff. So you can simply revert back.
Before when I have installed Patchkit 1.08, 2.08 and Systempack 1.8 I had fully modded game with Union, Ninja, CP, Zgamepad, advanced inventory and with other useful Union plugins.
Just install Union and the DX11 renderer (which you didnt mention).
Also I would just unsubscribe the gothic mods in the workshop just to be sure steam doesnt mess up your new installation.
My game launched but was buggy when i tried to get bigger resolution, so I didn't even try to launch the game... I was so pissed off after the whole day of making it playable.
Next day I would try to clean the registry of all gothic entries. Then I would check on which installation branch steam is for the game: normal or original. The original branch does not install the system pack or anything.
Then install it normal but not union, renderer and no zgamepad. Just try to find out if it runs out of the box from steam. Because it should since the normal installation comes with the systempack. If it doesnt install the renderer. I wouldnt even use the file from steam but download them seperately from an external site and install it manually. On Github there are 2 Gothic DX11 renderers: One is from Kirides the other one is from SaiyansKing. Saiyansking also provides a legacy renderer which is for people who wanna play with original graphics. So you basically have 3 renders. The old clockwork renderer is totally outdated.
