Yeah, a lot of fixes, also i noticed new "shader" water effect and god rays in Switch trailer

I played original Gothic a couple of times but I can't go back to the old control scheme. I'd love to see updates on PC but with the remake version coming out (which is probably going to lack a lot of the janky exploitable charm of the original) where's their incentive to put it on PC if it might affect the remake's sales? People on Switch will pay sixty dollars for remastered Space Invaders. Switch people got dat cash. PC players are cheap, and have a huge selection of games to chose from. Gothic was never released on Xbox or Playstation either, but the remake is coming there as well, whereas a Switch version hasn't been announced AFAIK.

They still have the source code?! Why hasn't it been released like Doom's was? The engine was completely in-house, so I doubt it's licensing concerns.

The list of fixes on thqnordric site is impressive. You can tell by it that developers have really played this game and understand how it should work

That would be great if they would give it a similar treatment as the first Risen (including achievements etc.). I replayed Risen earlier this year and it was still highly enjoyable after all these years. Even the graphics are still pretty good for a 15 year old game (awesome atmospheric lighting).

Um, yeah, that's exactly what I said :) . I wish they would give Gothic 1 (Classic) THE SAME TREATMENT AS RISEN.

Or even better treatment (given the age of the game and its problems with modern hardware)
