When trying to install the System Pack fixes, the "install" button is greyed out, not letting me finish the last part of the fixes

The install button is greyed out if Gothic doesn't meet the necessary requirements.

The requirements are:

- install Gothic1_PlayerKit-1.08k.exe and Gothic1_PlayerKit-2.8.exe

Thats the weird thing, I did both of those.

I believe you but you probably installed one or both of them in the wrong folder.

Did you manually choose the Gothic 2 folder or did you accept the automatically selected folders?

Manually chose the Gothic 1 folder, as that was what I was installing them for

Yeah sorry I meant Gothic 1 folder.

Did you try to install Gothic1_PlayerKit-1.08k.exe and Gothic1_PlayerKit-2.8.exe again?

Because the install button of the system pack is only greyed out if the check for these patches fail.

And did you try to install G1Classic-SystemPack-1.7.exe or did download another of the system pack files? You only need G1Classic-SystemPack-1.7.exe and none of the others for Gothic 1.

I'll do that once I get home and whenever I get on the computer and post back

Create an exception in the firewall for it, its not a virus.

I did exactly this, did not work.

The install button of the system pack is only greyed out if one or more of the following files are not correctly installed: Gothic 1, the patch 1.08k, playerkit 1.08, playerkit 2.8

That means if you can't install the system pack then you did not correctly install some of the files necessary for it.

the issue i was having was the playerkit 1.08 didn't see that i installed the 1.08k patch. had to do it a few times before it was noticed and things went smooth afterwards. very annoying.

Yeah as I have posted many times here in the forum you have to manually select the installation folders for the patch and the player kits.

It is always the Gothic main folder and not one of the subfolders (some people think they have to install it in the folder where the exe is but that is not the case).

I was so highly fustrated because I had the same problem. I finally found out what worked for me. I copied the player kit installer file to the main game install folder. I then ran the installer from there. During the installation, I browsed and selected the game folder as the player kit installation folder, and boom... finally worked... Anyone that stumbles across this, I really hope it works for you too.
