Solution: How To Successfully Install Mods and DirectX 11 for Gothic 1 (White Screen Start Up Fix!)
I have just started to play Gothic and decided to get the game looking the best it can be. However, after following many different guides, the stumbling block was the Direct X11 install file which so many linked to. When I launched the game after modding it, I could not get past a blank white screen, despite hearing the games audio in the background.

SO, HERE IS THE SOLUTION TO GET GOTHIC RUNNING WITH MODS AND DIRECT X 11 SMOOTHLY!!!

Instructions
1. Install a fresh copy of Gothic.

2. Install the 1.08k patch.

This is the official latest patch for the game.

3. Install gothic1_playerkit-1.08k

Link: http://www.worldofgothic.com/dl/?go=dlfile&fileid=28
The player kit allows you to run mods.

4. Install G1Classic-SystemPack-1.8.exe

5. Install D3D11_Renderer_Clockwork_Edition_Gothic_17.6.7.exe

Link: https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_591.htm
It's important that you install the Clockwork Edition and not any other version of Direct X or Renderer, as this was why my game kept showing a white screen! The program will do all the work for you and install everything you need!

6. Install enhanced texture mods
You can install whichever mods you like. I use the Texture Pack By Artemiano and the Big Nature Mod by Gaz. Make sure that you install them into your Gothic DATA folder.

Artemiano Tecture Mod: https://the-gaming-den.com/table/

Big Nature Mod: https://uloz.to/file/hDXZobpR/gothic-bnm-v-1-01-bygaz-exe

7. Install the 'Fixed Carnage Heads Mod' for better character faces. Put the file in your DATA folder.

8. Run the game from the Gothic\System\Gothic.exe executable.
You can bring up the DX11 menu in game with F11 or Control+F11

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! It took me 20-30 mins to install it on Windows 10 with all your steps. Works perfectly at first sight.

It would be pretty cool if Steam just sold games that already work when you buy them though

The game loaded and I followed instructions to the letter. I was confused as to whether I put the mods in the moddata folder or in the data folder, but i did it verbatim and put them in data.

My only issue is in game the FPS is terrible.

So I left the game, and came back to reload after randomly getting struck by lightning at the start of the map!??! And now my game loads in a tiny corner of my screen about an inch big on a 27 inch screen. Windows res 4k

I was able to fix the resolution and FPS problem by going into Gothic.INI and changing my resolution to 3840x2160

When I F11 and click on the HDR option the screen gets white. If I deselect HDR then it is normal. Is this related to the same issue ?

EDIT: It appears that HDR is a new TV technology and older TVs don't support it. I guess that explains why my screen gets white when I click HDR option
