Well thanks, I guess I'll just hope 2 and 3 work better. Hardly worth refunding since I only spend $4 on all 3 of them :P
i am not in fact, i alway played the game with mouse and keyboard and never had a proble with it, i just stated what the developers had in mind.
gothic 2 is more like gothic 1 but with improved controls, gothic 3 is the game which is like modern games when it comes to the controls. :)
but anyway gothic 1 and gothic 2 are more then just worth the experience in my personal opinion.
Only thing you really have to adapt is that you have to hold ctrl/M1 + W in order to do most of the things. Very simple.
I can also reccommend rebinding Q and E to sidestep, and A&D to rotating.
Do you mean use your mouse software to map L-Click to the same key as the Action command? I ask, because when I access 'Settings' > 'Keyboard' and attempt to map 'Action' to a mouse click, it won't recognize it. The remapping function won't exit until I press a key.
[Edit] Nevermind, I mapped the [L-CTRL] to my Logi MX518's L-button using its applet and all is good. I agree that once you have that configuration the game is quite easy to control. Strafing is a bit weird with a funny animation though, but it did bring back memories of how games used to control back in the day. ;) I actually had more difficulty with the controls in Gothic 2, but that's likely more to me not having tweaked the camera just right yet.
Loving all the fan-made patches & DirectX 11 support; these games look way better than when I last played them. :)
