Green Coconuts

Following the tutorial, I am asked to find a green coconut. I have looked all over the island and can only see brown ones. Any ideas?

After doing some research on this same topic yesterday, I guess that particular tutorial was written before a change to the way coconuts work. As things stand now, all fruits on the same tree are the same level of ripe, so mostly you'll find brown coconuts when you start (on default settings at least... idk if it works based on time of year or just a ripening cycle), and so apparently most people just skip that particular tutorial and drink from brown coconuts now.

Depending on your starting settings, you might have started with ripen coconuts. Fruits are based on ripening seasons. Coconuts are first green, then after a few days they turn brown and then they fall to the ground to allow for new green coconuts to grow.

We're updating the tutorial so that you can drink from a normal coconut too.

Thank you for your reply. I can't remember at the moment, but it is possible I changed the settings.

These settings are based on the actual geo location of the player on the global map and everything around the player is being randomly generated based on them. They can't be changed on a running game, unfortunately.

You will have to start a new game.

Oh ok. I understand now, I thought you meant because of me changing settings.

I will do as previously suggested which is to skip that part of the tutorial if no green coconuts are available. It's no big deal.

I found green coconuts but when I hit them with a sharp tool they just vanish. :(

As Jupiter said, the "Green coconut" disappear after hitting it with something sharp. So the task which is about drinking water from "Green coconut" can't be finished at the moment.

When are you going to update the tutorial task about this green coconut issue?
I can drink from the brown coconuts after cracking them open, but it is not counted as valid action in the tutorial task "Drinking from a Green Coconut", so the tutorial task can't be completed at the moment.

Use a knife to hit and open it, to access the drinkable liquid.

If you use an axe, it'll destroy the coconut.

I haven't played in awhile, though planning on starting it up again to see how things have progressed. But the green coconuts had small ones that do disappear when you hit them and larger ones you can drink from.

Added: I did find a large green coconut on my starting island and using the ax on it did allow me to drink from it. I think it's the small baby ones that don't work.
