I think you misunderstood his question, as I have the same one and came here to try and figure it out. I have found a small stick and want to craft a camp fire but I can't add the small stick to build the fire? I need a fire stick? How do we do this?

Thank your for the elaboration! To resolve this put a "small stick" on the ground and use an axe to split it into pieces to make your fire (wood) with.
