Have you tried to use the keyboard?Try out "WASD"(logic)K(enter/jump)J(backspace/attack).
To close the game you could try alt+f4.
If that doesn't work i cant help you ;(

K is accept and J is back.

If you are playing with a keyboard i suggest going into the settings and changing the binding.

Before i got my Xbox remote to function i used.

(Left hand)
AWSD = Move
Space = jump
F = reset camera
C= change target
X= Taunt
Q= Change gun
E= Change Devil Arm
Number 1-4 = interface keys
esc= pause

(Right hand)
J= Melee Attack
K= Gun
L= Special (slide)
;= Target lock
L and R arrow keys = turn camera

Remember if you change the attack keys J and K are always Accept and Back (cancel) same for wasd for move and left and right arrows to turn camera.

If you want less stuttering Ctrl + ALt + Del while the game is running, select the DMC3 exe process, right click it, click affintity and set the game to 2 cores (or 3). THis will make the game run much better.

To get the game full screen go to the options, video and while the resolution is set to lowest press Alt + Enter, then set the resolution to highest. game will be full screen but in 4:3 ratio with black bars.

If you are still getting crap preformance check the DMC3 survival sticky in this forum it has directions to delete certain sound files from the game which completely fixes up the games stuttering.

To get better graphics and less screen tearing force AA and Vsync in the graphics control panel.

Hope this helps.

Np man... i drove myself crazy this passed weekend trying to get this game running right.
I'm glad I could save someone a headache.

Yeah its a pain like some other games, I'm seriously thinking of getting a controller just to make my life easier. I just don't know which is the best....

A controller is a all new set of headaches in this game. Just grab a Wired 360 controller and find a program called Xpadder or JoytoKey. With one of those programs you bind your keyboard keys to the controller. While Xpadder or JoytoKey are open run DMC3. However, make sure the controller is not plugged in when the game starts up. Once you are at the main menu plug in the controller and you are good to go.

These are the Settings i use for Xpadder.

Controller Map - XBOX - Example
A - K
X - I
B - L
Y - J

L Analog Stick = WASD

DPad Up - 1
DPad Left - 2
DPad Right - 4
Dpad Down - 3

LB - N
LT - E
RB - Space
RT - Q

R3 - 0
L3 - P

Start - esc
Select - M

R Analog Stick = Arrow Right, Arrow Left

^ that set up works perfect for me. Again always remember to unplug the controller before start up.
