How to play as Vergil in DMC 3

Soo , i completed the game in Normal Mode and i got all Dante costumes ( except super modes ) and it showed the message " Vergil is now available " but he doesnt appear ...
What the hell happened ?

Start a new game. Oh, and this is important, when you start a new game as Vergil, MAKE SURE TO SAVE THE GAME IN A DIFFERENT SLOT THAN YOUR DANTE GAME.
