Report a translation problem
like the first time i played DMC 3 i only used swordmaster, rebellion and Cerberus
(at the time i didn't get the other weapon's)
but now Beowulf and royalguard are my favorites
if some one only uses swordmaster then Artemis seems useless

Nunchakus is good for defending. if you have level 3 sword master you can ceate an ice ball encircle you for a few second and no attack will harm you. think if you use it to block the purple sphere from that flying chilopod.
Dante's own sword is good for fexiblity although it doesn't cause as much damage as Beowulf. Because you can learn a skill rush forward(i can't remember the name), you can easily get near to the boss or other monsters. The block judgement is also awesome. I usually use the jump and slash combo to block the attack of the two sword brother. also, if you learn the third skill of the sword it's quite fun to play with the Shadow boss. you can always block the black sphere coming from it.
I'm not good at using Guitar. the only skill I think useful is an area damage with high restat on monsters(you can even block or dismiss Vegil's attack). but Bwowulf also have an area damage skill so i don't think it's necessary. there is one skill you need to buy to let you fly in the sky and dump lighting when in demon. actually the damage is not so positive. the only use is for a secret mission which need you to fly in the sky to collect red orb.
The two sword is for monsters, not useful for bosses. The skill is gorgeous i have to admit. (the flame strom) but not high restats on shield. so don't try it on the blue horse when drop from the bridge. it won't weaken that boss at the begining so you or have to wait for the horse to run several circles and finally stop.
For Vegil, I think every weapon is weathy of it. Katana is for distant attack and high damage combo in the sky(press L and J alternately, if the monster doesn't die you can alway in the sky). Sword is for block and fexibility like Dante's. Glove is for high damage, espicailly on bosses.

I don't need answers like "I'm not good with this weapon but I like this attack" or "I don't really use those weapons" and "This weapon is good for this".
I wouldnt give up on shotgun. That thing is way more powerful than you think, especially if you can Jump Cancel it for massive amount of damage and knockback, which is good in DMD for enemies enter DT mode.
As for speedrunning or whatever, yeah, you're right, some weapons are probably better than others for this, but this is a rather specific situation. Then again, I guess whatever weapon allows you the beat the game faster is technically better than others, but not neccesarily in every situation, which is what I was concerned about.
All weapons are good and they have multiple things to them.
Rebellion is the most balanced weapon of course but it's also in a way the better one. It has good launchers that either sends enemies away or upward, good damage and range, good ways to produce Style with Million Stabs and Dance Macabre, the best forward attack which is Stinger, the AMAZING sword spear (style lv 2) and drive, which is somewhat hard to use but can do good damage.
Cerberus is a good stunlock and damage weapon. It's quick, meaning you can hit-and-roll indefinitely and has good vertical range so even if the enemy is a tad bit away from you you'll get him (contrary to Beowulf, which has a deceptive range). The forward attack is not always useful but it deals good damage and cranks style faster than Rebellion at the cost of rooting you in the animation. The back attack (Windmill?) is useless against mobile units that can be knocked back but VERY GOOD against bosses and chess pieces or other stationary enemies. Cerberus has no effective knockback or launchers move however so having a spare for that is necessary. Or the shotgun.
The styles are also very good. The first one is a quick panic button. it acts as a jump cancel (meaning you can negate some unrollable animations faster) and is super quick. It deals no damage however. It rather acts as a combo extender and a stunlock that can be done very fast.
The second move is the damage dealer.
The third is a ♥♥♥♥ you to Cerberus's green eyes Jester and Virgil's special ultra attacks.
Agni and Rudra is my favorite. It just kicks ass.
Beowulf is a boss killer. Rising Dragon is the friend of every single speedrunners and is the most damaging move of the game. By itself it's a good weapon which pulverises Jester, Lady, Vergil and these annoying scythe warping twatholes (as the main combo sends them upward instead of away)
Nevan is the hardest weapon to use but the one with the most potential. It really HURTS when you know what to do but it's not good against everyone. The spiders will make you RAGE if you use Nevan against them, and it's not really a boss killer. But the rest will feel it, especially the archers. Forward move (The rock N' roll slide :D) is a wonderful charge attack that not only sends enemies flying UP, it also quickly launches 4-5 lightning bats at your target. This means that even if the archers are moving away from you, they will suffer and die. In DmD it is a very viable strategy against these suckers. The style moves adds melee damage and good combo options
As for the guns, they're pretty much all good but without the styles the pistols/shotgun or bazooka is usually the best. The pistols allows you to hover in the air. And when you do not know what to do next, just use the pistols while your brain decides who to attack next. The rocket launcher is self-explanatory.
If we are talking about pure "efficiency" its more about what style and less about weapons as gen speaking royal gaurd dominates the game (particularly combined with spaming dt charges) though you can sss with anything else.The raw damage output and style points from releasing a royal gaurd charge is borderline broken as is the abillity at higher lvls of play to practicaly ignore the enemy attacks thru parrying and contuining to dish out damage.
quicksliver is extremly situational as is the double (thought it also has high potential of the two both dmg and canceling so it uses a diffrent move set).
sword master and gunslinger add more flexibility thought genraly speaking gunslinger is going to help your dmg output more(but this is only realy relvant if you are useing the shotgun or ebony/ivory thru charging them while comboing).
Trickster is prob the least competitive as the only realy useful move for increasing damage output is situationaly the teleport(distance and canceling) and you can dodge just fine without it(again situationaly on some more platformy stages it can however help you make better time travel wise)
Cerbus and the twin swords (havent played in 3+ years) are more situationaly useful( and on your loadout) then the other weapon ( thougth nevan can be clunky without sword master she is nevertheless extremely powerful particularly the bat aoe)
simlarly the demon gun is some what situational ( and is very restricted without gunslinger) thought less mainly becus of how guns are used/less prominent.
Ladys gun even thought restricted without gunslinger again usualy is the one of the more useful gun as far as just putting out spike damage or stunning enemies thought damage wise (and prob one of the best anti air moves in the game) is to simply jump cancel the shotgun ad nausem.
Also the long rifle it exists...thats about it it has a couple uses but its the most situational weapon in the game ( I want to say it can be useful for levithans heart/beowulf/maybe lady on higher diffculty? but I havent played in forever and forgot what exactly they are you would have to look it u).
Lastly back on melee weapons gen speaking some varation of rebellion the gauntlets and nevan are genraly the most dominate with rebellion being the better combo and solid dps most times gauntlets being the better spike damage in most situation and nevan the aoe choice for wave based/non boss stages (thought exceptions exists).
But this is just talking "most efficent".Loved this game on ps2 (thought a massive dissapointment that they didnt add a dante boss for the special edition for vergil fights the reskin was a massive dissapointment and the lack of a few more vergil cutscenes).

I would say it is a matter of personal playstyle. I still think Artemis wasn't that much useful because i often don't use Gunslinger, but i'm pretty sure it has its use for some ocasions. And i agree with the user up there mentioning how they nerfed the shotgun very bad in comparission to DMC1 and DMC2 which is sad. But on the other hand, you can see it was an obvious nerf to force the players on close ranged combo style so all the players could experience how much effort developers had put into the combat system. This way the same DMC2 mistake would never be repeated.
Not when you use heavy weapons like Kalina Ann or Spiral. Let alone using firearms keep increasing score. So even if it increases the style score so less it won't be extinguished. Also I think there isn't any weapon can outdamage Kalina Ann's. Maybe except some weapons' style attacks. Wtf is restats? You used this word so often and it doesn't even make sense.
Yeah, I forgot about it long time ago. I knew about it but totally forgot then go look at it by myself. It's called Centipede. You can also use Royalguard for that too but it requires way far better timing than the Cerberus' protection sphere and what ifyou don't use Royalguard? ;D
I don't know what is Block Judgement supposed to be. It has nothing to do with learning Swordmaster style level 3 skill. You can always throw back projectiles or break them by regular attack.
Again what is restat? How the hell you can block or dismiss Vergil's attack by Nevan by any chance? So you can do area damage by both weapons to increase your style score. Also Nevan breaks the projectiles that makes it good use against archers. Simple. Not it's lightning strikes but engaging into melee attack does a decent damage. Not that only. You also can use it on Heaven or Hell mode to prevent stepping on acid puddles.

Well he did give you a long and enough answer while adding his own comments on the context. He told you the listed weapons' pros and cons. That's all. But yeah I feel you bro. When you basically want a simple thing but anyone else just come with different things...
"Speedrunning efficiency." Wtf? You just meant "if you want to do speedrun?" Also shotgun is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ no matter how many times you can attack with, the damage is just not enough, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about knockback, I care about damage itself, go with Kalina Ann, it will do more than total damage that you can do with Shotgun by jump cancelling, it also knockbacks enemies.
Where you check the style skills names like "Dance Macabre?" I haven't been playing the game since years. I only played a little bit like 3.5 hours to beat Heart of Leviathan. Because I could never beat the boss when I attempted to finish the game even on DMD mode. And I stucked on Mission 8. So years later I encouraged myself to do that since I even beat Dark Souls 2: SotFS and I'm not a teen anymore but much older and downloaded a savegame file to don't spend days to get where I stucked at. And it was like impossible to beat it if you attack the right lung because left one heals the heart with the green orbs it takes from the demons that the eye out of the heart kills them with laser beam. So I didn't go for both lungs, I could and it would make it was easier but I go for left lung to stop it gets healing.
I don't like knockback anything, I want to keep lock on them to keep doing damage. And spear attack is good you can use it and keep damaging enemies with the other weapon.
I don't care if it's good for stunlock and quick, it does ♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage. You can get him by Rebellion Stinger too so. Or even Shotgun's Stingerlike attack. ;D And you can do hit-and-roll indefinitely with any weapon.
Eh, pistols are only good to stay in air, Shotgun is just a meh. I prefer Spiral instead of pistols and Shotguns and Kalina Ann. But while having Kalina Ann would make Spiral useless.
Well you don't need to cancel the switch. If you press move front or back button(W or S) while shooting the recovery time is slightly less than when you shoot normally. Wtf? You just called "bad" to the best firearm in the DMC3? rofl. It has big AOE effect and does most damage amongst firearms.
Wtf he didn't even asked styles. All he wanted to know was weapons! You just put 3/4 of the whole text of styles and 1/4 of the weapons. Maybe less, lol.
And even tldr version doesn't make sense. You just put there 1 style, 2 firearms and 1 weapon while you put there 1 firearm with 3 weapons with same style. rofl.
Yeah I would like to play against Dante with Vergil rather than reskinned Vergil but it felt good ya know that seeing you could beat Vergil way easier than Dante with Vergil.
Yeah it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ strong. Shotgun is the worst, most useless firearm regardless of what you combined it with. Why would you want to send enemies flying? To shoot them with E&I while they are in the air? Wtf? In DMC2 you also had Rocket Launcher why would you even want to use Shotgun? Shotgun is worst and most useless firearm.

Not really. Cerberus is amazing thanks to Swing (especially if you JC it) and Revolver 2.
Ice Age is a pretty unsafe move since it has a way too long startup and recovery for a defensive move. Offensively it's not good either since it locks you in place for way too long.
Again, not really. By the time you reach DMD your main damage tool will be DTE (besides broken stuff like guard cancelled Spiral and just guard/release) . The devil arms are just there for you to increase the style.
Guard cancelled Spiral has the second highest DPS right after RG. In fact it deals so much damage that it pushes your style score up forever despite the diminishing returns of repeated attacks.
The only advantage of Kalinna Ann is its high stagger, which knocks enemies away in a single shot even when enemies DT. Problem is that it has an insanely long recovery which you can't cancel out of (and the last thing you want on DMD is being stuck in place for more than 2 seconds).
Leviathan is the easiest boss. Just use jump cancelled Killer Bee against the right side then the middle. Mix in some DTE for extra damage.
To crowd control. Knock half the enemies down so that you can focus more on the rest. Besides launching enemies isn't a big problem since you can cover distance easily in DMC3 with pretty much anything (especially with Trickster). Also shotgun doesn't launch DT'ed enemies.

Again, it's actually. Not when you do good combos with Swordmaster. And you can't spam DTE since it costs DT Bars until getting Super Sparda. And no weapons are not just there for you to increase the style, also doing damage. And we weren't talking based on a certain difficulty.
That's cheating and trick, not the normal way. And switch cancelling can make it even faster since it doesn't required to be triggered on certain time of animation of shooting with Spiral. If you press L right after shooting it won't trigger stance position on RG. But you can switch firearms right after shooting. Anyway I'm not sure if it can be used right after switching back to Spiral since my savegame screwed up controls and pressing Q also triggers the taunt button as taunt button triggers the firearm switching... I'm sure that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ author cheated! How the RG supposed to do damage? Are you talking about reaching level 3 on absorbing damage then damage with it to the enemy?

Not when you go for right lung and don't know what to do. I watched a video of G3mü$i the one of the greatest player on Very Hard mode, he handled it with Nevan+E&I aerial combo but I could do nothing with Rebellion+Beowul with Swordmaster. Because I couldn't outdamage it's heals. Killer Bee? I wasn't using DTE due to I didn't even know it was a thing or how to use then when I stucked. So wanted to beat on the same status when I stucked.
Bah, I prefer keep them together and AOE their ass. Doesn't launch? What does launch supposed to be?
