Yes I was on 88 (x100) + 1 = 89 jumps.
If i just defeated him, I would have been on jump # 90. :(

you can try to finish DMD mode first. after that you will get a suit when Dante changes to a demon, there will be no magic lose. the blood palace would be much easier. i like Vegil 's ability better. after defeat DMD mode using Vegil, i only play one time to complete 9999 level. by the way, you can always jump into the flame ring. it'll add 100 level.

I got to the 3 DT'd Hell Vanguards... smh, who thought this was a good idea at CAPCOM??
ItchyDani3l Nov 10, 2014 @ 6:54pm
Finally did it! With normal (shirtless) dante. No super powers! Just... alot of abusing the taunts so I could get to full health. Hahahaha.

Bosses I fought in order:

Vergil 1
Vergil 3
Gigapede
Beowulf
Arkham
Jester
Nevan
Cerberus
Lady
Vergil 3

Also, I fought:

Super Agni (random level)
Super Rudra (random level)
3 Hell Vanguards at once...

I didnt have to fight the Devil Triggered Hell Vanguards though! Which was nice!

Equipment I used:

-Rebellion
-Beowulf Gauntlets
-E&I
-Kalina Ann
-Swordmaster Class

Ah and also I did this using only a keyboard. ;D

Got nailed by 3 Hell vanguard without DT at room 8401.

Style used :gunslinger
Rebellion and Beowulf, fav weapons without Swordmaster style
pistols and spiral, spamming it like i was in DmC 2

Shame on me ;-;

Yeah the 3 DT'd hell vanguards seem to be the kiss of death for me too. I never had to face them on my last playthrough. I think it has something to do with me only using the Flame portals. Otherwise I guess its just random. I did face the 3 normal Hell vanguards though, and kicked their arses.

Also, swordmaster is the class I'm best with so far, and seems to be the best at defeating the Vergil 3 boss (which I got to face twice, yay). It is also very good at defeating normal enemies like chessmen, 7 hells, etc. The only times I start wanting to play other classes is when I fight the Chariot boss (to an extent), the Leviathan boss, and Agni&Rudra.

Everything is luck for the spawn of certain mobs/bosses. I seriously need training against multiple hell vanguards.

With gunslinger style, i rapidly tap [gun button] and [style button] to fire at a ludicrous speed.
The super bouncy bullet (mash [style button] when activating 'sniper' skill) does a lot of damage on one entity, the health saved thanks to these two techniques make me stick with gunslinger style.
However, it is unefficient on Leviathan (too much ennemies onscreen), and vergil 3 is hardly doable.
I tried royalguard, but since my FPS isn't constant, i couldn't parry correctly 1/2 of the hits.

swordmaster : good to use thanks to 'twister' from agni&rudra (lots of mana regeneration) and the sword throw of rebellion (additionnal DPS)
and the aerial skills are so great for combos in mid air.

Nevan is cool for the DT health regen, and Beowulf has an excellent DT defense. So many choices to make xD

The aerial combat for both the Rebellion and the Beowulf (my favorite combo) make the Leviathan boss fight fairly straightforward (since there's very little you can be hurt by midair)

Also I recently beat BP with Vergil. It was fun.

During the Vergil BP, I had to fight 2 DT'ed Hell Vangards and some of the DT'ed Blood Demons at the same time. It was very difficult but I survived with more than half of my bars, mostly because vergil can spam his Summoned Swords at all times.

Aw yiss, finally. the BP won't haunt me anymore until now xD

Config :

Sparda
Gunslinger
Rebellion / Beowulf
Pistols / Spiral

Time : 3 hours
Total ennemies : 881
And lots of red orbs, so i can maybe finish DMD mode.

Bosses fought (sort by personal difficulty):
Ez - Agni with both swords
Ez - Rudra with both swords (twice)
Ez - Agni & Rudra
Ez - Cerberus
Ez - Lady
Ez - Doppledanger
Med - Jester with his ball (twice)
Med - the boss in level 4 (what's his name again ... caterpilar ?)
Med - Vergil 2
Hard - Geyron

And in the end, Vergil 3, best feeling ever defeating him.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=353852983

Actually, Beowulf was very VERY useful. the Jump cancel, kick in mid-air combo was my best DPS for the DT mobs.
Plus, it made the Vergil 3 fight a lot easier.
Plus, i often quick-dived in the groups of monsters to get green orbs

Worst room : 2 angels + 2 shielded armors. (DT room)
The two armors stayed in group so i couldn't strike an armor without getting hurt by the other.
Good thing that one angel just looked away and did nothing.

Others DT rooms : Damned chess; 5 archers; Spiders; many octopus ghosts; weak mobs; blood flying things; one hell vanguard with weak mobs (no triple what luck !)

I got a triple hell vanguard encounter in the 8000's, but this time, i didn't die.

Scariest moment : at the end of Geyron's fight, i was left with less than 1 bar of health and not enough mana for DT.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=353866356

In the next room, 5 damned pawns immediately turned DT and charged me (plus there were 5 more damned pieces : 1 tower, 2 knights and 2 bishops)
Fortunately, the first pawn dropped a big green orb (Thank you santa claus)

The only thing that bothers me is that i got nothing but a new illustration. I expected getting something more ... like super sparda's costume...
Oh well, guess it's time to beat DMD.

You also get the Super Dante costume, but you must have already beaten Very Hard mode then.

Yes indeed.
I thought beating it with sparda would have given me super sparda. Sounds logical to me. x)

Super costumes are not really my thing, since there's no HP regen in DT. (that would have been so OP :happymeat:)

I'm going to be trying to beat the DMD mode next, but it's been very difficult so far.
I barely survived level 2 yesterday, mostly because all of the enemies guard when I try to attack, while his buddies attack. You can't use normal strategies on them, and it seems you have to change targets alot.

DMD : i'm at level 7 (Dante) and 3 (Vergil). kinda stressed to face vergil at this level.
Everything i've been doing so far is farming red orbs and abusing Vital stars L to pass through.

Good luck to you too for DMD. I feel that mission 19 will be a true nighmare.

Oh hahahah. I don't use items really. I might change that later in the playthrough, but I think I'll be good enough to go without. Those Hell Vanguards are pretty tough though, taking away 6 bars of health with each hit, whew.

Also I heard that Vergil in DMD mode is very very tough. In the later fights where he uses Devil Trigger, he uses the summoned swords to surround himself and be basically invulnerable to melee attack for a period.
