Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Confused by Dante's mother
Dante's mother is a real mystery to me. In the first Devil May Cry Trish says that Dante's mother and Virgil were killed 20 years ago by the demons. The point which confuses me now is how young Dante's mother looks on the photo in the first DMC ( she can't be older than 30 or mid 40 ) . With Devil May Cry 3 playing 20 years ago now, I have no idea how old Dante's mother really is on the picture or in which time period she married Sparda.

Due to the intro of every Devil May Cry game you should think that Sparda died hundreds of years ago, which can't be because of her young age on the photo. In the opposite to Sparda Dante's mother most propably was still mortal and had a normal human life span.

Of course this photo could be made earlier when she was still young, but when we say that Devil May Cry 3 is playing in the 80s ( I assume that Devil May cry 1 is playing in the early 2000s minus the 20 year gap between the games) Dante's mother must have met Sparder between 1880 and 1900 to become that old. But I highly doubt that Sparda lived that long, because then everyone would know about him and Lady wouldn't think that he's just a myth.

I hope that wasn't too confusing know what I wrote here, but I hope it shows what problems I have when I think about Dante's mother. But maybe someone of you can make it clear to me^^

It could be that Dante is much older than he looks in DMC3, after all his father lived for milennia so maybe Dante ages slower? It doesn't seem like Capcom put much thought into it so maybe we shouldn't either.

You might be right. And I have no doubt that Dante and Vergil are aging slower as half demons.

probably due to the fact that it's maybe an old photo of his mother and not the one she died in, also like you said Dante and Vergil might age slower. i really just want a real DMC 5 damn it

well Sparda cut off most of his power off and left it in the demon world because he was afraid that he was becoming too powerfully

so Sparda could have lived for a very long time after losing most of his power and since he was in his human form living a mostly normal life people began to believe he was just a myth

if i had to guess i think that's what happend

Next to that you never know for sure what happened to Eva while she was pregnant of the twins. Could be that because of their halfdemonblood she aged slower as well etc. (but yeah capcom overlooked her role probably)

But why should she have demon blood in her? As far as I know she was an ordinary human.

i think the story is better if dante's mother was human
dante says in dmc 4 that "humans have something demons don't"
but if dante wasn't part human then that qoute wouldn't be as strong
but thats just me

Actually I was like" Dante's mother shall be an angel? Never, never never *shaking my head*" when I read that in an articel about the reboot. It's just my opinion, but for me that wouldn't fit to the Devil May Cry world, especially because there never has been any angel in the series as far as I know. But otherwise I just played DmC 1 and 3 so far.

for me even tho i like DmC knowing both dante's parntes were still kind of alive(eva is dead but in the dlc you meet her) really ruined it for me
i mean spartas alive but they just go oh hes never comeing back
and im WHY THE HELL NOT if he cant come back just say hes dead whats the point in saying hes still alive

i really like old sparta and seeing what he was in DmC really buged me
