Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Widescreen fix?
When I launch the game, it goes into a windowed mode and I have to use the end task option just to get the game to quite. I think someone on here wrote to alter the resolution in the game's files which I did and perhaps should not have. Are there any patches and fixes for this game? I'm also using a Logitech controller and it says that this is not supported? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!:steamfacepalm:

Can you send me a link to a reliable guide? I was able to do what you are talking about with DMC4 but not DMC3

A documentation file is included with the download, it includes a configuration and installation guide

That XIinput program does not work. Every time I run it it says 'file not found.' So basically I cant do anything with the Logitech controller I have. And which .ini file needs to be changed? I put the 'bin' folder in the root directory and ran the install bat or whatever it was, and selected .dll sound and it just brings up error messages

This is something that can occur when the game is installed on an additional Steamlibrary folder instead of the main Steam folder.

In other words, make sure your game is installed on the same drive as Steam is.

Okay, thank you so much for the input and it's just a matter of having to re-install it and try it again. And with that being said I think I might try Steam's Borderless game software. I wonder if that would work for DMC and plus there are older titles like the original Tomb Raiders that this could fix too. It's all worth a try, but thanks for being there. For this patron, Steam is simply the best!:steamhappy:

Well, I have it working and am using Borderless gaming but MAN! The animation is really slow and it's incredibly pixelated. Sad really...they just didn't put enough work into porting this game.

Did you properly download and install the Visual C++ 2015 run-time components (x86), as instructed in the Documentation?

Also in the [DISPLAY] section of the styleswitcher.ini, set the screen resolution to your monitor's native one and set the number after the "@" sign to 60

Set "Mode" to "1" if you want fullscreen.

For example, my screen resolution is 1920x1080, so the first section of the ini file should look something like this:

[DISPLAY]
Bloom=0
DisableBlurShader=1
DisableFogShader=1
DisableShadowEngine=0
FOV=0.5
GammaCorrection=1
Mode=1
Noir=0
Resolution=1920x1080@60

Next scroll all the way to the bottom of the file. Near the end there is a setting called:
"ForceMode0=0"

Change it to

"ForceMode0=1"

Do these and your game should work properly, without needing the Borderless Gaming software.

I cannot install the Visual C++2015 run-time components as it says there is a newer version installed.

No, none of this works at all. I tried editing all of that stuff.
