Here are some of the towns that will have their own map:
Manassas
Winchester
Stauton
Frederickburg
Buchanan
Culpepper (wilderness)
Lynchberg (appatomax)
Richmond - this one is interesting. There were some unique battles that happened around Richmond, from Cold Harbor, to the Seven Days to Gaines Mills. The Richmond map encompasses them all, just within different areas of the map.
Frederick Maryland will trigger Antietam, just about anywhere in western PA will trigger Gburg. Along the mid MS will trigger Shiloh. Chatanooga has a map, NW AR & SW MO will trigger the pea ridge map. Springfield MO will trigger the Wilson Creek map. DC has its map. Nashville will trigger stone river. Seems like the rest will be "fake" regional maps. Like STL will give you a map with rivers, NC will be a map with marshes or the Danville.
I know this is not 100% complete, but it should give you an idea where to park if you want avoind playing bull run 100 times a campaign. The CSA is prone to that. Playing as union, as you invade you do get a nice variety.
Knoxville triggers cumberland gap map. That's a first for me
