Amphibious warfare
One thing I've noticed in my recent game is that large armies can get into boats and get out again far too quickly. This should be a major operation requiring a few hours not minutes. And whilst getting into and out of boats the army should be very vulnerable to attack so they should not be able to do amphibious assaults on enemy held land very easily.

Likewise i have intercepted un-escorted amphibious invasions with significant fleets with over 100 guns and they don't turn back the invasion or cause significant damage. In reality it would be a total slaughter.

yea naval stuff as a whole needs a sweep.

I would also really like to see fleets being able to attack enemy armies in boats so in areas of enemy naval supremacy amphibious movement is even less safe.

Agree.
I would like to intercept enemy troop ships.
Also enemy armies crossing rivers and landing in battle range of my army triggers a battle, but has no recognizable disadvantage for the landing army. That does not seem right.

Intercepting troop transports is not working currently, and will be fixed.

Anything new on that? i still have the same issue
I would also like to be able to intercept enemy troop ships. Its kinda game breaking when the AI can just sail past my 60 gun Fleet and land next to my capital and there's nothing I can do about it.

How do you stop enemy amphibious assaults?

Playing as the Union I invaded Virginia, took Richmond and pushed south.
The confederacy just loaded all their eastern armies on boats, sailed past my River blocking Squadron of 100 guns, my coastal blocking squadron of 150 and happily sailed north to invade Maryland behind my lines.
They now march on an unprotected Washington as I race the Army of the Potomac back to try and intercept.

I'm going to put some speed bumpers down, I mean forts. Kind of have to cause in my game they peninsula hopped there way to delaware where they got the supplies to build a depot

The game also needs a way to destroy depots. My game the eastern coast practically has a depot on every numbered town and non numbered town it's going to be death by merchants.

So the only real way of preventing this is building forts all down your eastern coast?? :(
Its pretty bad when you have 100% control of all waterways but the enemy can plunder and invade your coastline with impunity.
I've REALLY REALLY enjoyed the game up until this point and was about to write a rather glowing review.
But this BUG / realisation the AI can sail through your massive armada and drop three 25K armies along your coast is a huge killjoy.

+1 troop transports should get shredded by decent fleets if they are not escorted

Are you saying I should be seeing this in game, because that is not my experience?

No, he is saying that he supports the need to fix this problem.

This needs to be fixed ASAP. I see a developer post from March 16 about fixing this, yikes! Developers, will this be fixed in 1.04xx?
