Forge of Freedom: Best Civil War game ever before this one! Anyone ever played?
Holds up really well still play to this day! GTTCW could take a lot of ideas from this one!

While waiting for GGTCW to be more fully developed, I looked at FoF but wondered if it really works on modern PC Window 10 machines. The few posts I could find varied as to how well it runs on today's machines. Same for Take Command Manassas 2...would it work on my W10 machine?

we do need the infusion of new blood new ideas to come into the video game world can't always have the same boring games all the time they nice to go back to every one in a while or they great for being temporary place holders while we wait for the infusion of new blood to come into existence

It does work you just have to fiddle with settings. Let me know if you want to know what I did for mine.

Completely agree but nothing wrong with mixing new ideas with great old ones!

If i remember it correctly the AI in FoF on Tactical battles was also very braindead. Not sure if that was ever improoved, i didnt play it much because of that.

I would personally have to say Scourge of War was and still is the best Civil War game ever but this game really gives me that vibe just from a higher level so they fit very well together.

Of course I just got it and basing that mainly on watching lots of videos.

Scourge of War is good but only tactical. I am talking about strategic and tactical the whole package. As far as I know only FOF and GTTCW have done that.

If you outnumber the AI it you can usually prevail but my 60,000 CSA vs 100,000 USA is having a devil of a day in my current battle!

40 USD for a 15 year old game not supported on modern operating systems, and is only able to be downloaded for 30 days. Who would not just jump at that deal.
