Ammunition shortage
I'm playing as the South, and I have an army that has captured Louisville. We have a supply depot right there, but the army is constantly short on ammunition, and the depot doesn't appear to contain any. What controls this, and how would I go about remediating this? I've mostly played as the North and have never had this issue before.

Depots restock from trade routes like waterways, rail, or road. If there is no direct rail connection to a larger stockpile or port, it will not replenish quickly. If your army uses all available ammo, any new ammo will go directly to the army and you will never see it in the depot.

Iron Works create the ammo, so if you dont have enough making ammo, you can run low also.

annoying part is some armies might not of been in a battle but still out of ammo. think thats due to front line units in combat a lot get priority on ammo. IE u might have a small army gaurding something in ur territory and a big battle might of happend somewhere else and the small army has to send their ammo to the fighting armies if the depots near them r out or low.

It happened during WWII not enough supplies to go round so when a major attack was going in the units not involved sent their supplies to those involved. Monty and Patten were always moaning about not enough supplies for both armies and both demanding they should get prioity over the other. Ike usualy sided with monty cause he had better troops and weapons and in a better postion to attack from.

Just save and reload. If it works like the credit rating system you should have infinite ammo.
