Is Whiskey and Lemons worth playing yet?

I got it when it came out and it was unplayable, armies not moving, battle AI being too stupid, etc. How is it these days?

I honestly would suggest playing nearly any other game at this point. Too much does not work as intended and the AI is still lacking. The Devs have dropped a few patches since launch that helped but not even close to what I would consider acceptable. Some people still find some enjoyment with the game as they see the game for what it is. Others like myself wont touch it again until the devs drop a fairly substantial patch. I am not holding my breathe for that.

i guess its subjective, but iv been enjoying it. Just make sure the campaign/battle difficulty is high

Truly glad you have found enjoyment as well as others. Just for me, too much doesnt work as intended. Both in base game and the dlc. The economy, the subsidy system, the recruitment system, sieges, supply and so many other things are just not working at all, not as intended or you the player has to find work arounds. I have over 300 hours in game and about 100 of that is with the W/L dlc. My last playthrough was started after the devs big DLC patch. Quit a couple hours in as the changes were not enough to fix all the things I see wrong with the game mechanics. Honestly the devs should remove the economy and diplomacy parts of the game and just make it a recruitment, deployment and battle simulator. As they either fix those other parts of the game and re-release them or just abandon them all together and make the recruitment, deployment and battle simulator better... Again I really want this game, or a game in this era/genre to be good really bad. Hoping the devs get it together or someone else steps on the scene and makes a good game.

i did one play through with the south and it went just fine, but i just said f my union run. started out as a 20 year old officer that led the 2nd wisconsin. we shredded and i got my own corps, did some shredding and Lincoln made me the leader of the union army. launched a spring campaign after spending the whole winter keeping johnny reb at bay. we took everything in virgina other then richmond by may, my army did all the fighting while the others would just run, the morale system is still a shattered mess. so i spend april up to mid may running between fredricksburg and southern virgina cause every army i send to move along with my armys flanks just has broken morale simply cause their in rebel territory.. like yea thats what happens when you invade. you enter the Enemies A.O and you make it yours. well my army was the only one that wouldnt run so i took my 17k hardened boys and steam rolled my way to the outskirts of richmond, this is all in 1862 to so the war is about to be over if i pull this off. suddenly my guy gets sick for like the 1000x in one year and i get sacked for the coward that wouldnt fight. i get defamed and lose like 15k prestige that i was saving up to buy the prussian bolt actions. i had stacked over 50k rebs, took almost all of virgina single handedly and i got a sniffle and was sacked...

There is simply a lot of work to do until AI and realism can be seen as somewhat functional. Game has much potensial both in campaign and career mode but is not even close to be ready. This just is not near to be an early access. Probably developers have given up their hope. I have given up my hope for this game.

Not worth playing. Enormous bug and problems.
1. Player units have problems with movement, AI units move faster.
2. AI units have much shorter order delays.
3. Graphics still need a lot of improvement.
4. Developers have abandonded the game. We should do it too.
