In battles you click the HQ button top right then the bottom paper on the rightside of the screen. Find your unit in the oob and switch the tabs to find victories and losses. Outside of battle you find the unit and then click history.

Here's a screen shot of what I'm talking about so there's no confusion.

Once you're in the HQ mode and clicked the paper that says consolidated morning report then you'll arrive to a screen like this. All you have to do now is click confed or usa depending on what side you're fighting for and then you click the superordinate units that you're apart of to find your own unit/subordinate units. For example if you're leading a regiment called 23 GA in the 2nd Brigade of the Army of Potomac then you click confederacy, click the army of Potomac, click 2nd brigade, and then you'll see 23 GA. You can then switch between consolidated strength report tab and consolidated combat report tab for losses and victories of each unit in battle.

Army Management Screen on the campaign map. first choose the army that has the unit you wish to see the history of. Then on the left side of the screen where the unit name is right above the name there are 3 tabs. The tab on the left is for general info for the selected unit. The tab in the middle is the officer's stats, history and such. The tab on the right is the unit history, it keeps track of battles and their taken and inflicted casualties in each battle, the number of men that left and those that reenlist, and the formation date of the unit. Hope this helps
TBF, I think there should be a "simple" version of the report available that just says how many casualties a unit has inflicted and taken in totality since the regiment was formed.

They could make a records screen that has all records for every unit on your side. that has this report for the unit. Kind of like the career mode history. This way, it will keep track of all units even if they get disbanded or eliminated.

Pretty much this, yeah.

I also noticed that mergers aren't tracked in the unit's history log as well, which is another oversight.
