Uniform/color attributes
I think the uniform colors should have a cost but also attributes. I think the standard uniform color should be based on the general uniform each side wears.

The green uniform should cost money, but when in trees they gain a 10% reduction in incoming enemy fire because they are harder to see. But they offer a 10% penalty from friendly cross fire because friendly units are not aware they are in the woods.

Brown uniform gives bonus preventing enemy accuracy or detection when in bedded in earth works. But generates additional chance for enemy to hit them if they are in a grassy area.

Red uniforms, increase fighting spirit in close combat but detection range is greatly increased.

Maybe white uniforms generate more wounded in a volley rather than dead. Or units with white uniforms recover from wounds 25% quicker.

I think something like that would be neat and add an unusual twist to the game. I am sure benefits and costs to each color or style could be worked out.

I think depending on the uniform a unit can gain an advantage in endurance or fighting spirit, for example if they are equipped with a large over coat and thick wool pants, they perform better in cold weather and snow, but lose endurance in the summer from being over heated. Its the same thing armies do today, they are issued gear for various types of weather but they do not wear the winter gear unless its actually cold out.

Right now I make my FA guys all red, CAV guys all yellow and infantry are grey or blue, while Snipers are green or black this helps me identify them when I have NATO symbols off.

It would not be that hard to implement.

Needs a sharpshooter unit

Yes a unit with whitworths, scopes and forest green uniforms would make them super deadly under the concepts I am presenting.

This would allow for some neat stuff.

Like a horse-drawn FA unit that moves extra fast due to items or uniforms.

Or units that are actually camouflaged in limited light allowing them to close the distance on the enemy long before being noticed.

The possibilities with items and uniforms are endless.
