Anyways, you'll probably want some guns that do a lot of penetration, so check those stats out in the Weapons tab. Trajectory is in there, too. Accuracy and range might be important.
You may also want to browse the fleets section of the campaignprefs file. There's some stuff in there that relates to range or RoF modifiers for naval combat.
Thanks GreatScots. I don't really dabble in the mod tool file much so forget it's there.
Yeah not knowing how those certain numbers for Penetration, Trajectory, Ammo weight, Etc actually get calculated in the behind the scenes "Naval Bombardment" action it's really just a guessing game.
Maybe when I have some time I can make some save games and try out various scenarios with different ship types vs. forts.
