Just because your research so far hasn't found it , does not mean it didn't exist ?
But so far I haven't found a contemporary state flag for Missouri , Tennessee , Kentucky , or Indian Territory ??
But I love the idea.
Especially given that State Sovereignty and subsidiarity were still very much a thing in 1860 , and not just in the South either.
As far as uniform customization goes -- grrr , the Union needs two Zoauve models , not one. The South needs two Zoauve models , it has zero. Both sides need a Shako model.
Both sides need at least one extra cavalry model.
And , no , kilts didn't appear in the war . But given the sheer number of Celts on both sides , in my opinion a kilt model is not too outrageously far - fetched unhistorical.
Finally , as far as I know neither side fielded battalion - sized Naval Infantry . But I would still like to see a Naval infantry model , again in my opinion not too far - fetched a possibility.
Tennessee had a state flag and a battle flag in the Civil War. Confederate Missouri and Kentucky had their own battle flags as well (although I'm sure their use was limited to only certain formations). Indian territory could perhaps use the Cherokee Confederate Braves flag or the Choctaw flag. The only real kicker is Arkansas, that did not have any flag, or proposals for a flag, until the 20th Century (and diamond mines that the flag represents, likewise, weren't discovered until the 20th Century either). Perhaps the Arkansas troops could bear the Van Dorn flag, since they were part of his trans-Mississippi army.
As for those same states siding with the Union, I don't know as much on their heraldry to comment. When in doubt, just use the national flags.
I have never seen this, can you explain?
During campaign, your units earn experience and you can select perks for them. I think once your unit upgrades perk to level 3, it is considered elite and you get to choose additional battle flag for that unit (there's bunch of historical flags to choose from) Once you do, this brigade has two flags on the battlefield. Icon for that additional flag appears above the perk icon.
Some units in historical battles have them, so you can check it out. For example Iron Brigade in Gettysburg scenario.
That's very interesting, I've honestly not gotten far enough into a campaign to see a unit reach level 3, so I'll have to load up Gettysburg and see for myself.
EDIT: Yep, you are correct! It's nice to see they already have what I'll call "veteran flags". I still wish we had more, or perhaps the default was the state but then once reaching veteran they became unique, but the devs are already ahead of me it seems. Thanks for pointing this out!
