Corp creation and value?
So I got Military 2. Was kinda excited to create Corp. But I was annoyed bc my army was in Virginia and the only way I coukd figure out how to make army with Corp was to start a new one and transfer people over.

But then any new Corp I created started in Maryland and had to travel to where I was.

So the units spent 4 days transfer from 1 army in VA to a new Corp in Maryland judt to spend another few days matching back.

Also. I'm not sure I fully see the value in creating Corp. I had an AoP with roughly 75k men with 4 divisions of Inf with 5 Brigades each. 2 Cav brigades and 5 cannon.

By splitting them into Corp, I have a weaker overall fighting force. They can support eachother yes, but arrive at battles at different times.

The only 2 pro's I see are: able to cover more territory and be gar enough apart to draw from separate depots.

In a game like CW2 there were inherent disadvantages to just divisions like command penalties.

But I don't see that here.

I feel like to work properly there needs to be some correlation between say leadership/administration and number of troops commanded. Or perhaps a hard cap on number of brigades per Div and div per corp?

I'm just not sure the system is flushed out properly and serves any real purpose other than historical flavor.

Am I missing something?

In my opinion the army should have a much longer line of sight were it can have reinforcements come from farther away than a corps can.

As for capping corps and divisions, I don't think that is needed. If you put all your troops in 1 corps, that corps becomes super strong, but the enemy can invade from the other side of the map if you are not careful, because you only have the 1 corp. Or you can have multiple corps protecting every road into your territory preventing invasion, but since they are weaker there is a good chance a larger corps might be formed to attack your lines.

There was a post I made in another thread that gave an idea for how they could do a division game to give it a better feel and prevent Promoting to many officers to MG.

If you reached Military 2 Act you can just create a new army and then transfer a whole old army under the new one. The old army will be automatically a corps. This ignores a transfertime and your old army will idle at its current position as a corps.

Also: isnt there a benefit from less order delay on the battlefield with corps structure because divisions get orders from corpscommanders. So you can spread wider on the battlefield and your troops must not be in the sight of the armycommander?

Not to mention being able to have a full cavalry corps to screen your army on the strategic map.
