So far you should be able to dig into the files and change values.
Dr.Zika Sep 24, 2021 @ 1:54pm
If you don't mind me asking i'm not very good at that type of thing what files would I need to change?
DL Sep 24, 2021 @ 2:24pm
depends on what you want...more troops, buff leader stats, change certain dynamics like training, recruiting comp, pretty much anything can be edited.

why cheat for money in a game that only cares about your credit rating not actual bank account?

Hey Doc as long as you keep your credit rating above B- you can recruit and when it gets low just print more money
mogami_99 Sep 24, 2021 @ 3:14pm
the cheats are weapons. And there are posts on how to edit them

There is a few ways to edit the game to get more recruits. Generally I will go to the Grand Tactician Civil War/config file....open up campaignprefs.

search for this line
Standard recruit rate for volunteers if state support is 100%, calculated of total population [0-1]
Currently the number is .03. You can increase the number, and itll increase recruits for both you and the enemy. Just be aware each unit costs money ie having a negative effect on your credit rating, so you can only construct what you can support as stated about.

If you want to give a certain state more population, and in turn more recruits, youll have to go to the Grand Tactician Civil War/campaign folder, and depending on which campaign you are playing (A is Feb 1861), then open the nations.dat folder. You will probably need notepad++, though I am not sure. When you open that, youll see this

53
Alabama
1
10
90
AL
771623<----population in 1850
964201<----1860
996992<----1870

Those are the numbers you change for that

well i mean there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you got it, its very winnable, even on hard. do you really need to cheat?

I cant find the Grand Tactician Civil War/campaign is it in a save file ?
Milo09 Sep 24, 2021 @ 7:49pm
You really should be altering files to help the AI. I load the save files from the opposite side to reorganize the enemy forces and replace defamed commanders.
