Explain what issues that crashes your game.
I have done the same so it is possible.
Developer Zapilu: "Actually not due to the sprites themselves, but when firing starts, there will be more smoke as each sprite "fires". Too much smoke will hurt performance, as it's not only visual, but visibility is also effected dynamically. Other point is the amount of "unit platforms" in a single unit (the small square that aligns along terrain)".
The amount of Smoke, and the Unit Platforms.
If memory serves both are in the unitprefs file.
Try decreasing both default values.
Question - how are you changing the default OOB to allow every Brigade to have 5000 men.?
I haven’t seen a way of doing that, unless this only applies to the campaign.
No I have not...I just reverted back to default and played after two attempts with problems. After reading your post maybe you have to change each individual unit size instead of the maximum?? Game is pretty buggy at the beta moment, trying to learn and not have it crash all the time LOL.
This is as far as I have gotten, can't seem to figure this out!

When you start messing with the number of sprites, you alter the unit frontages, which are precisely calculated, and therefore the "under the hood" calcs, and then you crash...
Exactly my point! It is just attached to many different data calculations that conflicts can/will arise.
On another point, has anyone found the file/line for increasing recruitment levels within a state? I haven't searched but sure would like to increase those numbers....
Standard recruit rate for volunteers if state support is 100%, calculated of total population [0-1]
0.01
Recruit rates for drafts if mobilization rate is 100%, calculated of total population [0-1]
0.05
Just changing the 0.01 to 0.05 will give you tens of thousands of recruits per state. May or may not affect employment/workforce/taxes and tariffs income
So far, I like 1000 trooper max Cav units. Turning my Cav brigades into regiments. Will see how it goes.
