Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865)

Is there a way to see when I can expect reinforcements to arrive/how many?
Ewell attacked the army of the Valley with his 20,000 man corps. When I accepted the fight it showed 40,000 against 20,000 in my favor, yet as the battle begins I have only Howard's corps of 8,000 and no indication of when I can expect reinforcements. Is there any way in game to determine that?

I'll write up some of my impressions of the latest patch but overall very excited, it's starting to feel like a complete game.

Also why can't my brigades dig in?

Not before you decide to manage the battle from what I know, but once the map loads you can click on the OOB button on the bottom and you can hover over the units not here yet and it will show the amount of time before they arrive. The ones scheduled to arrive should be a lighter color than your units on the field now.

The OOB only has Howard's corps in it, so then why did it indicate I would have the full army when the engagement started? Bug?

Also I'm trying to create breastworks, click the button, set the facing, and nobody does anything. Am I missing something or is that not implemented yet?

Also thanks for the response

Click breastworks, right click the left end of the line you want to build, move mouse, right click to set the next 'waypoint' on the line, repeat until youve drawn the whole line, then left click. Some terrain cannot be built on, and will cause the whole line to go red (but its not really noticeable) and vanish when you try to confirm it.

After you have succesfully drawn your line you need to have infantry build them by selecting one or more infantry brigades and right clicking on the unbuilt line

That didn't happen for me at all. I clicked, right clicked to set facing, it made a shovelly sound and nothing appeared. It was on flat terrain and the icon was blue when I set facing.

The first I believe is a bug, if your nearby corps were set to offensive and within the larger red circle of the army in the battle, they should come to their aid.

Second issue if you were trying to build earthworks before the deployment phase ends it has to be done within the circles where you can place your forces. Otherwise as Ninjafroggie said, you have to do it in a specific way, and then once the plans are down (they will be almost transparent so you know it is only still plans) you select infantry brigades and hover over the plans, and right click and they will begin construction. Also note a bug building earthworks exists where it will not even be an option. I click on breastworks first, then click off and the earthworks are now available. It is a pain to get these things built at the moment, I hope they improve it as we go along.

Edit: I also don't think I have been able to build plans for any outside the deployment circle, but after you go into the battle itself you are free to set plans for breastworks anywhere you like, you just need to get your troops there to build them.

you either left clicked wrongly or double right clicked on a point when trying to draw your line

Again thanks for all the help.

Having the shovel sound trigger should indicate I clicked correctly right? They just weren't there. It's possible they were so transparent I didn't see them given some of the issues around resolution in game.

nope. it makes the shovel sound every time, whether you place correctly or not. If you press left click after selecting breaksworks you get shovel noise. you have to LOOK to see that youre doing it right

Thinking back, I think I left clicked to place the barrier instead of right clicked. I'll go give it another try. Thanks!
