The Soundtrack (Volumes 1-2)

We released the game's Soundtrack Volume 1 on August 21, 2020 - the same day as the Early Access version was released.

Performed by Wasel and the Weasels, it includes 21 traditional and old time tunes from the Civil War era, recorded just for this game. From the early war fervor and cheerful tunes, to the melancholy of losing friends in combat and longing for home, the Sound Track captures the atmosphere of the American Civil War as experienced by the soldiers in the field. By the way, Wasel is also the man behind all the hand drawn maps you see in the game!

The Volume 2 of the Soundtrack was recorded during the spring-summer of 2023, and includes 20 hand-picked traditional and old time tunes, that fit the Whiskey & Lemons DLC's approach, where you create your own stories in the career mode. The new music breathes new life in the campaigns. As commented by one of the beta testers: "...it’s like playing a new game." The Volume 2 is released on Aug 25, same time as the W&L DLC.

Note: all the music will be included in the game regardless of you owning the Soundtrack (either volume.) Purchasing the Soundtrack Volumes will allow you to listen to the tunes also outside of the game! It's also a good way to support the Grand Tactician -project, especially the talented musicians!

Is the album already finished or can you hope that more tracks will be added later?

The musicians have not ruled out the possibility of expanding the soundtrack later. But there are no plans at this moment to expand it either.

There are already some songs that I miss in the track list: Wearing the gray, Rose of Alabamy, We'll fight for Uncle Sam, The Irish volunteer, The Irish brigade, Irish soldiers, and some more well-known and popular songs...
I will still support the project (by that I mean game and soundtrack) through purchase.

thanks for really bringing the production values for this game. I hope this becomes the definitive Civil war game for all strategy gamers!

In your library. Click the tab at the top left that says "Games". Choose the soundtracks option and you will find it.

During the game there is no option to choose a song. They are currently played randomly during:
-zooming max out in campaign
-loading into campaign

Great, it works now, thank you, checked the Soundtrack box and it then appeared in the library list, from there installed it and moved it to my favorites area. Played album twice. Half of the songs I never heard before.

Turned off the music in the game and played the soundtrack independently. So far, only loading an historical battle had two simultaneous music streams going.
