Not Saving

My partner says the game autosaves on his laptop. Though while playing it my laptop needed a restart, so I saved the game manually and then let it do a reboot. When I got back in, I had no save files at all.

I've also had a few instances of sound completely dropping out, but game still playable. I'm running Windows 10 Creator Update on a Surface Pro 4

More updates: This has happened again. The Sound dropped and I was able to play for longer, it was only when I switched windows that it wouldn't load up at all. Actually, my entire computer crashed, and I had to restart it. Still have no save files, but they are made in the save file folder. So they're there, but I can't access them at all through the game?

So now that I've put many many hours into replaying the start, I've found out that I cannot get past the first date. Something always crashes before I get past there, even if it's simply on the first date scoring screen.

More fun stuff, I think the reason I can't get past my date with Robert is maybe I'm scoring too high?

I had this same issue. I went into the folder properties and changed "Saves" to "Save" and it started working :')

oh I just deleted everything to try a fresh restart, since I did an entire game of avoiding Robert and then I still got the same Robert frozen screen. So I'll try that if a complete delete and restart doesn't work.

Im on a surface pro 4 as well and I think I'm having the same issue

I'm having the same problem. I know the save files are there, but the game doesn't register them for some reason. I just keep getting diagonal grey bars (which probably means the game thinks there isn't anything there). I tried what halfbloodshilo did and changed the name, but I still can't get it to work.

Yeah I haven't gotten it to work, simply have been playing on my partner's computer while he's at work or sleeping. Which has been annoying cause I completed one game and Steam gave me ALL of his achievments, which I was hoping to earn for myself.

So I deleted all my saves and put it running Compatibility Mode for Windows 7, and it actually worked for a whole 24 hours.

And then today while I was completing Mat's romance, when one of my friends went online and I got the steam notif, the sound crashed. I finished Mat's romance and it showed me my nice new gallery picture, but the sound was gone and the notif that my friend was playing a game hadn't slid away yet. So I tried to click out of it and nothing on my computer was responding. Nothing in the game was responding either after that. Restarted, opened game again, all save files gone. All gallery pictures gone. I have a feeling I'm gonna have to delete everything again and reinstall to make it work, but at least you get to read some of the story line this way? If you have a Microsoft Surface?

Again though, I think this issue has something to do with Steam Client, since it's always when the client does something, like inform me someone is online, the game crashes...

I tried renaming my folder as well, and it didn't do me any good. ):

Okay I'm not sure how I managed to do it, but I got it working.
I opened up the saves folder in the dream daddy folder and deleted everything but my most recent save. After that, it's recognizing it in the load window.

I'm not sure but it's possible an early save was corrupt? Maybe bad naming convention or something and it just was ruining all the other saves I think.
