so when at first i heard about this i thought hey this seems really funny. but now that ive had time to think about it i now have very mixed feelings on this whole idea as whole. on the one hand the game dos look like it has alot of really good qaulity to it. the art looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great and they clearly put alot of affort into this game just by looking at the screen caps and trailer. and hey they actually did the voice acting for this which is really awesome...but on the other hand im afraid this is going to be to much of a joke. i mean its called dream daddy. *which sounds like a daiting app youd find on your phone* but daiting sims are pretty much the biggest genre in which youll find lgbt characters and themes and such. so the idea of lgbt daiting sim that focus more on humor then the actual everything else is worrying. it feels like its more of a parady of those kinda games.

now to clarify im not saying that this will be the case. i very much respect game grumps and look up to them. but im just kinda worrying how they handle it. i just hope the game has more to offer then what was showen. im very sorry if i woreded this poorly

The dating sim is an entire joke. it's in the description too that it's all about dad jokes so expect a dating sim filled with dad jokes and comedy.

I honestly don't see a problem with it. If I'm to take your word for it, then it seems there's ENOUGH dating sims with lgbt characters that are done right, so the grumps having one that's all about comedy isn't going to be such a big deal since people can play those other games for more serious themes/tone.

I think OPs concern is that, instead of it being a gay dating sim with jokes, the fact that a gay dating sim exists is the only joke. I wouldn't worry too much about that. There are plenty of funny visual novels that are still LGBTQ-positive (Coming Out On Top[obscurasoft.com] immediately comes to mind), so it's not like it can't be done, and the humor of this game seems more about the characters being dads than their being gay.

They said that while it does have jokes, it is a heartfelt story about caring for someone, both family and romantic love.
Also there are already ALOT of BL/yaoi games out there and most of them are serious without being a joke or angsty.

Nah, I think you made a fair point. The Grumps' gay jokes aren't exactly great or well-done a lot of the time. It is being written by a friend of theirs, not them, luckily.

I don't think you'll have to worry too much. The Grumps do like their jokes however they are usually very good about accepting and understanding of peoples different backgrounds. On the surface they seem like the loud, yelling nonsence at each other sort of people. As someone that has watched them for years, I can tell you that is not the case. They've always felt they had the best intentions and I feel like they've put a lot of warmth and care into this game. As silly as they are at times I doubt they would do something insulting to thier friends and fans for their very first game.
I also have played quite a few dating sim games and I very rarely see kids involed with the story, not one the MC is responsible for at least. I think that won me over when I saw that you are not just going out on a fling but also looking for someone that you trust to help care for your families furtue. That's just my opion anyway, if you're that worried wait a while after it comes out and feel it out.

Most of the team who worked on the game are LGBT! They've answered similar concerns and promise they put a lot of love and care into the game! :)
