Finding a way to The Cult Ending

Some people have probably already found this and talked about it but I'll say something just in case. I know there is a way to see the cult ending but it doesn't give you an achievement. So, I was tryign to find a way to get there in the actual game. I watched through someone playing the hacked cult ending and noticed Mary being nice to you (which usually doesn't happen when going the Joseph rout), a mention of Robert's knife he gives you after the second date, and metioning of Joseph's third date. I decided to go through Robert's two dates to get the knife an then two of Damien's dates. After this I got the walk Mary home event that happens after Joseph's dates but this time you could be nice to her and actually walk her home. Then I played through two of Joseph's dates causing the walk Mary home event to happen again and went with the I'm sorry option causing her to leave. After all that i went on the final date with Joseph and I got a different event then playing Joseph normally. Robert showed up at the docks and sayed that he was suspicious of Joseph and angry that I was with him. At this point I remebered that in the cult version Joesph says something about needed to "take car of" Robert. Saddley this was the only changed that occured and the Joseph ending went on normally. I'm thinking that you have to say something different to him while you are on the boat. I know it's not much and hardcore fans are probably already aware of Robert's aperance, but as of the moment I don't think anyones found the ending in the actual game yet and if not I'm hoping this helps. The Cult Ending is not in the game. You can't access it through normal gameplay. In files you can find all the dialog, sprites, even backgrounds and can make that ending in a way but not many people wanna bother with it because theres no point.
In saying this, there is still hints about the cult ending and that something is wrong with Joseph. People believe that the ending was originally meant to be in the game, and thats why we have the achievement "Escape the Margarita Zone" but no one has unlocked it.

Personally I don't believe all aspects of it were removed before release. On my first playthrough, I romanced Joseph solely, Robert never appeared, Mary was sour towards me the entire playthrough. However, I decided to date every dad twice before committing. Joseph was my last choice so I had done two dates with Robert and was given the knife. Through my Robert playthrough, Mary was sweet as could be to me, because I was nice to Robert. I walked her home and she wasn't mad at me. Until Josephs dates. When becoming friendly with him, she was furious. I tried to make amends with her and she walked out. On my final date with Joseph, Robert was there, he was jealous. He seemed to care about you. (I will note that other dads don't tend to react to you dating multiple dads. Robert is the only one.). He also straight out tells you that Joseph will stab you in the back. Robert knows something is wrong with him, which is why he says he's suspicious of Joseph. (Also probably why Joseph says he needed to "take care of Robert" because he probably knows far too much in the cult ending)

But no matter what you say to Joseph on the boat, you will never get the cult ending. Its just not possible. Maybe one day we'll get that ending, but as of now, there is no ingame way to trigger this.

I honestly hope they repurpose it into some sort of DLC play instead of keeping it as is. The current scene is just so cliche (oh it was just a dream OH NO IT'S NOT!!!), extra, and out of the blue for the game. The artwork that went into the characters was pretty amazing. Joseph looks hella sick both metaphorically and literally. So maybe another dad's route can be a theater dad and Joseph could play the part of an evil priest with Mary (being the jerk with a heart of gold who helps out and stuff) playing a part in the play too.

So far as Robert being angry about you dating Joseph, there is a normal explanation for that. I mean, he slept with Joseph and he's friends with Mary, thus meaning he knows Joseph is the kind of guy who manipulates dudes into sleeping with him with no regard for Mary's feelings about it and continues his marriage mostly to save face in the community. As such, Robert is concerned you're going to get your heart broken but also that Joseph is going to hurt Mary again by sleeping with you. I'm not saying that it can't be related to the cult ending, but I also don't think that it has to be related either.

I completely agree with you on that. It could very well be Robert is just looking out for you or Mary
