The Dover Ghost (Joseph's Mistery)

When you on your 2nd date with Robert (the one he gives you a knife), he talks about "The Dover Ghost" and his experience with it and then we see a resemblece of it inside the woods and he say to you that we should get going. Things get kinda serious after that when we riding back home.
Well, he made very clear he wasnt kidding and hee seems scared but at the same time familiar(?) with that thing (he doenst say exatly what it is).
I havent seen anyone (yet) talking about it or trying to connect with Joseph's Cult.
I may say, I think it's Joseph himself

In the level 18 text Joseph says he's going to pay Robert a visit again with the Dover Ghost or something if that's what you're talking about? I dunno if it IS him but it sounds like he sent the thing after him in that particular text.

I can certainly try my best! Heads up this is a lot of theorizing with a bit of route info so I'll smush it in spoilers for you in case you haven't done certain routes.

This is all going based off the level 18 text since you can't access the route in game, but Joseph does say that Robert has been worried and he think it's about time he gets one last visit from the ghost. Outside of these text, you probably won't see mention of it in game outside of Robert's route and he only mentions the ghost. So it's safe to assume he's seen it before but the context is vague. For all we know, the ghost could be the reason his wife is dead or maybe it just scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of him at some point. He does like looking for cryptids from my knowledge, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Also, since there's no mention of anyone else besides the vessles and Mary with Joseph, either the vessles have the potential to be the Dover ghost or he himself. I'd theorize it's more of the vessles, unless there's some crazy powers Joseph might have.... Which also wouldn't be a surprise because I think even his body is just a vessle, so who knows based on the text what Joseph might be.

I was wondering the same thing!
It's really weird when you saw someone dragging a thing (probably dead bodies) in woods
But after the dover ghost part, avatar and robert just act like there was not anything happened.
And if the woods in robert's route is the exactly same place in craig's route,
Where avatar and craig found the creepy twins dismember the capybara,
There must be a thing relate with joseph's cult things.

If I remember well you can talk about it going back to home in the ¿Truck? and you say something like It could be just a person doing something normal etc etc So I didn't give it any importance. I though It was something perfectly normal but in that situation kinda scared both of them but was just that in that mood It was scary.

Personally I'd rather think it the secret ending was halfway cut for a reason and noncanon, cause it takes a dump on thr story and paints Joseph as a complete monster literally. And while his kids are creepy, I felt the kitchen and bake sale painted Christie in a much nicer light and made her seem normal. Just to pool a "no she's a complete monster" ending for the kids as well.
