At what point are you locked in?

Just finished my first playthrough(Mat, good ending ♥) and enjoyed it, but I wasn't sure if it was possible to time out by spreading yourself too thin and get a bad ending, so I just went on a completely linear Mat path. 3 dates with him, never messaged anyone else.

For my next playthrough I'd kind of like to know if I don't need to keep doing that. Can you, like, hypothetically go on 2 dates with everyone and the only point where you need to worry about an ending is when choosing that 3rd date?

You're only locked in when you go on your third date with the Dad. The game even warns you if it IS your "Dream Daddy" before you start the 3rd date. You can go out with all Daddies up to the 2nd date and still be fine at the end.

You can go on 2 dates with all the dads and nothing bad comes it! That's what I did so I could reload and try another ending.

I did that myself. Nothing really happened. Just the dialogue is a little weird cause it still reffered to the bbq as yesterday, despite it being several days later...

That worked fine for me. My first play through I did the completely linear path with Craig; but my second I bounced between Mat, Hugo, and Brian. Then for my third I did the second date with every dad before going forward because I wanted to see if it opened up different dialog at the end. I had no problems, your not locked in until that third date.
