The CD Projeckt Red model should be the industry norm. You release a game, get feedback on community, patch it until you release an improved version. Then you can think about the next game.
Right now Dream Daddies features: 1) butt-ugly mini-games w/ no in-game instruction or objective whatsoever; 2) bulimic content with little to discover or collect; 3) almost no customization options that stands out like a sore thumb from the rest of the game.
It will take a lot of work before it becomes worth it's price tag minus the rainbow tax. Fix the game first, then we'll talk next game.
The price is okay for me, when I think about the time it takes to develop this stuff.
I just think a lot of games on steam are under priced.
Have you ever developed a game from scratch yourself?
All I need to know is for the same price tag I could've gotten Undertale. Do you realize how many hours of quality gameplay I can get from Undertale? The dollar-to-content ratio of this game is below the indie industry average atm. Why would you want less content for your dollar AS A CONSUMER? Are you admitting you're being an irrational fanboy?
Game Grumps can plan on their future titles all they want. But from a consumer's perspective I don't want to hear about it until they're "done" with their previous game, and have something to show for themselves. It's a matter of confidence. I'd be less incline to part with my money the 2nd time around if they come across as irresponsible, lacking follow-up and have ideas that they can't promise to realize to fruition.
And if they're really gonna just leave this game "as if" without additional fixes/content... well it's not 2011 anymore and consumers will simply turn their back on them.
I think the ratings say something different xD
But jeah man, that's your opinion. I for myself think this was way better than Undertale.
(But then again I don't like pixel art, don't like any of the characters etc etc etc)
As an concept artist and small scale developer I know what this kind of project a game like this is.
So really, I think the price is okay. Sure, as said, a few tweaks and improvements would be cool, but I'm sure we'll get there.
-------------
I really appreciate your opinion though.
Hyper-theoretical, what kind of games WOULD you like them to make in the future.
Also I'd love to see the Main dad interacting with the other dad's kids. Like even when Amanda leaves all the other dad's have younger kids, we can have a story about raising them! I think this game can be so much greater and I really hope it does, though I hope it's less DLC and more that they'll want their game to flourish that they can add updates to the main experience.
