Piano Mini Game, Mat's 3rd date

How the heck does it work? I've replayed it multiple times but I can't figure out what to do and reloading it over and over is getting tedious. If I'm suppose to play an actual song the controls are way too finicky.

TBH it'd be nice if any of the minigames had like, objective instructions if they need something specific done in them. Took me awhile to figure out the concert one too but it was more obvious I just wasn't really sharp on that one (I thought I had to collect all the hearts, didn't realized they just added to the health meter and the objective was to get hit less and grab 'em as need be till my 7th try).

I got really far just.... holding my mouse in the middle of the left side of the screen and clicking, but yeah I didn't get to the end, if there is one. I'd just chalk it up to being kinda weird like the first one on Hugo's route.

Hmm. I keep getting B rank on this date so I figured there's gotta be a trick to the minigame but if it's actually just nonsense I'm stumped.

I've done really crap at almost all the minigames but the match 3 one and like 1 other and got pretty good ranks, but that game really has me at a loss. Will update you if I get it though!

I ended up getting A rank by changing my stage name choice to the third option, I hadn't realized that one was a super charge result (the game isn't consistent about that, so I never know if a heart answer is the only good option or if there's an eggplant one hiding in the others)!

But yeah, still no S rank on this date... which makes me think maybe there /is/ something to the minigame? tell me if you ever find out!

A rank is enough for me to get the good end and CG, but it's irking me that S rank seems impossible to get on this date.

I find it really weird that the minigame would have any bearing if they dont in brian's path, which has the most mini games from what I know.

Heya, I asked the dev who worked on that minigame on twitter about it, there's no way to "win" it, and that it doesn't really influence that rank. (Here's the reply if anyone needs confirmation: https://twitter.com/Aquma/status/888141990180683776)

That said, I also can't seem to S rank that last date.

I wonder if S rank is somehow impossible on this date. That doesn't make a lot of sense though. Is there something hidden we're missing?

I volunteered immediately, chose the third option for stage name. I don't remember the other choices other than the one that was just three capitalized lines about being okay. Those didn't seem to have an effect.

I really don't think getting an S rank on this date is possible, and this is coming from someone who's tried every possible choice because I wanted an S rank with every dad only to have Mat be the only one with S-S-A.

Now, the piano portion is pointless from what I can see. However, if someone does find out the secret to it, it'd definitely be the missing link to that out-of-reach S rank. Now, I've tried clicking wildly, typing out the words, clicking to the beat, and even trying to sing out the words in my mic, nothing... so, I'm assuming it does not have an impact.

Now, I feel Mat's third date is super short when compared to everyone else's. Makes me wonder, are we missing something? Maybe something from the previous dates that we didn't pick up on and now have to suffer with. You know like with Robert where if you sleep with him on the first day, you cannot actually have dates with him. You can only bone on the second and third. Someone will find out eventually.

I did get an S rank. I told Amanda to compromise on the sandals issue, clicked I'LL DO IT, then EVERYTHING IS GREAT, then Tomas Kalnoky. From then on, in the minigame I tried to harmonise a little, went with what felt good and following the directions of the game. It tells you what sounds right so I mostly kept doing what it liked.
