Anyone found the compass?

I'm on day 17 and have tons of resources, but haven't found the compass which I think is necessary to find iron, I am starting to get bored because I can't find the other reef without it, so have anyone found the compass?
I am, not exactly starving, but fishing is so tedious because sharks arrive few seconds after I start to fish and steal my catch and often reduce my health quite a bit, and it doesn't seem there's any way to kill them, at least not that I have found.

I found the volleyball buddy in a chest by a sunken raft, but no compass. No iron ore yet.

The compass can be found on the sunken ship in the starting area (knife too inside chest).

I also didn´t get the compass yet but I found ore. ^^

I handle it on a other way to get to the second reef and found some ore. Once you construct the map table you see that the 2nd reef is in NE position from your start position.

So construct some buoys and mark your first reef 4 times. 1 buoy in each direction. North / South / West and East. (Always remember where the sun rise up to get the first position ;) ) I placed them always at the end of the reef, to get a better feeling for distances and its possible to see them all from your start position.
After an other look at the map table, where you´re buoys now marked, catch up the raft and sail NE. Every time the last buoy gets out of sight place a new one and always get a look underwater. After a short time period you reached the 2nd reef and found the ore quit fast.

I have not found the ship wreck, but like the others, I found the Volleyball Wilson.

I found one of them - the long ship with the chests. I have not yet found the one with the compass. Tried swimming in the direction of the ship, found the other monolith instead. Speaking of which... does anyone know what these monoliths are for, or what they do?

Turns out, I had found the wreck where the compass was many times. What I had not done was swim to the very bottom of the wreck. Now that I have, however, the compass and the knife skin are mine. I've got the iron ore and the sulfur.

Where do I get fabrics from, and what do mills do?

fabrics (fabric clothes I think) are crafted in the anvil bench (dont know exact name at moment) with ropes
mills craft f.e. gunpowder from charcoal
