Game will no longer launch from steam
I've run the game once or possibly twice from within steam, and it worked fine, but now attempts to do so have no effect, the game runs in offline mode when i launch the exe directly, so is the steam integration causing a crash? is there a log file i can look into to see what's going wrong?

What happens when you launch directly from Internet Explorer whilst Steam client is also running and connected? The game should still integrate with Steam that way - a popup should tell you if it's not integrated.

No logs are created, but a dialog box should come up with a detailed error (usually echoed from SDL2's library). Annoying, Steam blocks these popups (which usually happens if there's a missing DLL) and silently closes everything. Very strange. Currently working this end on Win10 64bit from Steam client (non-beta). I'll do some digging to see if I can find anything.

One thing you can try is running it directly offline and look at the options, especially the options for nerds, change them about a bit to see if it's something your video card and Steam client doesn't like - unlikely but worth a try.
