Have you adjusted the mouse sensitivity? When I play it I can move the paddle a pixel at a time - i can't get it more accurate than that?

Can you explain how you mean about the ball? Do you mean the angle it bounces or the speed?

ball and paddle movements like Super DX Ball Deluxe or Ricochet - Infinity .

You mean the paddle matches the mouse-x position? If you could teleport from one side of the screen to the other, then you could just swipe the mouse left and right and never lose - like cheating. There is paddle inertia, acceleration and resistance for a reason; to stop this. Your paddle can't pass through balls or enemies - it bounces off because of the physics in the game, which makes PowBall unique. You can side swipe balls if you miss, bouncing off them and pinging them back into play. None of the other Breakout games you mention have this physics. I am willing to make changes to improve this game, but I don't want to remove physics dynamics to make it like other Breakout games.

that's fine i don't want to bother you with changes its just me because I played over the years lots of arkanoid and breakout games and I know what I like or must have for me in this type of games. Thank you for your respond.

You're the guru of Arkanoid games (from YouTube), so your feedback is golden and you have my full attention. I agree the controls will feel diffident to what you're used to, but give it a chance. The original DOS PowBall worked the same way. Limiting the maximum speed means multiplayer controls like gamepad and keyboard will have similar advantage / disadvantag.

Thank you the game itself looks beautiful it's a great game I know because used to play the old powball it's just the paddle and the ball that I don't like. I like it more real, accurate, sharp ,neutral ,but will see I will try to play more and see.

Wait, which version are you currently playing? In 1.06 I made massive improvements to the responsitivity of the controls. Before that, it felt like you were steering a big slow ship in water in comparison. Try turning the mouse sensitivity up with PgUp. 60% is about right for high DPI mice. Let me know if that helps. It's important that the controls feel right.

Ok yes I changed the setting and now it's little bit better not perfect I still loose balls that I shouldn't because both paddle and ball movements but that ok I can live with it I will take it as a challenge .it might frustrate first time beginner's players or old timers
Players this game is challenging from start this is not dx ball .so the better the controls and the ball the player feal confidence in the game you see the game need to be challenging not the controls or the ball all the popular
Arkanoid games have smooth controls and ball.movements and one more things maybe a code every level or check point for every level or 5 levels or 10 levels for new and beginner's players because if someone let say a play till level 5 or 10 or 20 or 50 and loose all balls and have to start all over he might gave up you want to give some of the players the hope that they have the chance to finish the game in the easy way and still be happy . But of course score get reset.

When I move my mouse, the paddle moves smoothly and exactly as expected; there is no delay and it goes exactly where I intend it to go, so I'm struggling to understand how I can improve on that? The paddle has inertia and acceleration because I don't want the player to teleport from side to side by jumping instantly to the mouse x coordinate; as I said before, you'd just swipe left and right and never lose, and you'd be able to pass through enemies. When I hit the ball with the paddle, it bounces exactly how I expect it to; it feels solid. The balls move smoothly and follow natural physics - much more smoothly than the original DOS PowBall. You can even side-swipe a ball and knock it back into play - something other breakouts don't do - the ball would just pass through the paddle. Can you tell me what I could do to make it better? Other players have commented on how smooth the game plays, so it might be something to do with your PC? If you look at any gameplay videos, does it look different to your experience of playing it?

Phew - so glad to it's working! Achievements and other SteamSDK stuff will be a big task, but hope to get it done this half of this year. I have lots planned for new games, too :steamhappy:

Hi again Eran,

I've just released a major new update. Can you give the game another try and see if the controls work better for you now?
