Your final identifications (possible spoilers)
This question is directed at those who have finished the game, so please be wary of spoilers.

Purely out of curiosity, which crew members did you struggle with the most? I've found it fascinating reading about other people's experiences and what they did/didn't pick up on.

My final six identifications were the four Chinese topmen, Alexander Booth and George Shirley. I solved the topmen when I noticed the shoes/pants. I used the same method for Alexander and George, but I think I just lucked out. I never made the connections with their hammocks.

Ignoring the 4 that left in The Escape
While Hamadou was the last one I figured out, Nathan and Samuel Peters are the two I spent the longest time trying to solve. I forgot that there were Hammocks in The Doom Part 2 leaving me to do my own deductions utilizing only A Bitter Cold Part 1. It's still very solvable, just much harder.
It feels great when you finally put the peices together, though.

I used the hammocks to figure out Samuel Peters. Towards the end of my run, I had a bunch of Sea and Topmen unmarked. When I looked at the hamocks in A Bitter Cold: Part 1, I realized that everyone one of them had a Hammock except #60 (Peters).

I think I would've really struggled on the Peters brothers too, but I ended up getting them through a guess. That was the first and last time I made a baseless guess; there was no satisfaction doing it that way. That being said, I did get a couple through partial guessing, like Booth and Shirley--who I thought I had a method for (but was wrong)--and Hamadou Diom, who I think I guessed based solely on ethnicity. Zungi Sathi was also just process of elimination, since I pegged him as a steward early on, but only found out which once I figured out the rest.

I've said this in another post, but looking back Peter Milroy took me far longer to identify than it should have - I just didn't pick up on the clues! I also struggled massively with George Shirley.
For me it was the Stewards- I couldn't work out how to tell them apart. I knew they were stewards because of the uniform, but as to which one was which I couldn't tell. And the one who died in The Calling I had for a long time as 'drowned' before I noticed he was still on board in the following scene. The Calling is a particularly hard one to revisit, because it's never clear which corpse will take you to which scene. Caused me a lot of headaches.

Also who / what exactly killed the Bosun and the Gunner, and the Midshipman in The Escape.

The Chinese Topmen I worked out by getting two other murders I was certain about and trying each in turn, I'm sorry to say. Completely missed the clues others have mentioned. However, the scene in the rigging is the point where I made the most progress- solved about eight off the back of that in one go.
