Stuck or Bug? (Not Strategy, Literally Stuck)

OK, I've restarted the game, and am stuck in the same way twice.

I move through the first few corpses, reliving memories, and marking initial information in the book.

I identify a woman who is crushed and also enter it in the book. I either hit ESC or TAB or SPACE at this point (don't recall exactly).

This triggers the stop watch, and I'm witnessing a Kraken attack on deck. However this memory lasts forever. There's no doorway/portal to go back through.

TAB brings me to the book, but I cannot advance. TAB again brings me to the Kraken.

If I press SPACE at any time during the Kraken, a bell sounds, a graphic sweeps across the scene, and it turns further pixelated (not like a visual bug, but rather a planned effect). At that point, no key input works.

I've found myself there twice now. Am I missing something?

When this happens you are supposed to find another corpse inside the current scene. Looking around you should be able to see it glowing white (it also glows through objects).
You should be able to move around to get to it, but if by "no key input works" you mean that the movement keys don't work either, well, then I really don't know what to do.

Hey, thanks! I had scoured the scene, and didn't think something was an actual corpse, but in hindsight it obviously was. (Hard to recover from that kind of injury!)
