The loading screens killed the game for me.
This game had amazing reviews so I decided to pick it up. After solving like two parts I have to give up. The loading times are WAY too long and I'm on an SSD. With a game that involves you to constantly be going in and out of memories, this is unacceptable.

Same as the other commenters here.

You might mistake the pre-scene dialogue or the fade in/out transitions as loading screens if you have the sound off. Also if you stand in front of a door and hold forward as you fade back in once it's open, you won't see anything on screen before exiting the diorama. There aren't really any loading screens at all, it's just fade in/out transitions and fixed length animations and whatnot.

If you're playing without sound the "Loading screens" are where you get to hear some dialogue before the persons death

Unfortunately I also faced a long loading time on my 2nd session just after selecting save file to continue, and when i revisit some memories. My first session loads up way a lot faster.
I don't know whay now it gets long

Dude. I timed it. Literally, exactly two minutes. I know it’s not ages, but it was long enough to find this thread, read the comments, and write this. It’s super annoying. And no, I know the difference between a blacked out cutscene with subtitles voices, and a loading screen. We’re talking two minutes of loading, then voices with text, then another half a minute of loading, then the scene loads… I know it’s meant to have a retro theme, but I didn’t expect it to emulate frickin’ floppy disk load times, come on

What loading screens? It loads instantly.

Your computer is broken.

Are you playing on a literal potato? Its obviously not the game that is loading slow if everyone else is having under 2 second load times.

navigating through the memories is a slog. I like the concept a lot though

If it's taking you two minutes to load on an SSD, then you either have a defective drive or a crappy one. An SSD without a DRAM cache is worse than a mechanical drive.

Star Oct 21, 2023 @ 10:15pm
I'm playing on a potato and there are no loading screens.

Takes seconds to hop in and out of memories for me too. Granted I've not played much but not been hit any loading times longer than seconds.. Takes more time to exit memories via the door than it does to load them, that is a bit cumbersome I'll give you that, but not really an issue tbh.
