Your personal "mystery person" you didn't get until late in the game?

For me it was the guy with the "captain's hat" and the Amish beard. He took me a damn long time because I really didn't read his visual clues well enough, and his uniform really threw me off.

Also, the bald dude in the lower left of the upper picture. Didn't occur to me he was from the place he was from.

What a fantastic game. Instant GOTY for me.

That one dude who only appears in like two memories and doesn't do much in either of them. Took me until way too late to take another look at where he was standing in the picture and work out what his job was.

Mr Stripe Shirt, because I was thrown by the red herring and also didn't pick up on what his shirt could mean, and arm tattoo guy. Because I never saw the tattoo. I just looked over it every time.

The Tatooed African dude with a name like "Maba" or smth, is it just me or are africans not typically.. white?

The Third Mate, if you could believe it. For some reason I ignored all of the obvious clues.
Also, for a long time I mistakenly thought that the tattooed topman was the bosun's mate and not who it actually was.

For some reason it took me forever to notice that the Helmsman was literally holding the steering wheel in the drawing. I was so mystified why he was unblurred (and marked as a two) from early on.

He was in my opening 6. I saw the tattoos and put him down as the guy with one name just so I'd have a way to remember him by, and suddenly it was confirmed to be right.

Isn't he from New Guinea? I thought they were celtic tattoos and put him down as the Scotsmen at first

Yeah it was New Guinea you're right, I still can't figure out why he's white though.

Think it's just the colour scheme of the game - the African guy and all the Indians, and the Persian guy all do too

I don't think so, all the other Africans and African-Americans/Brits looked clearly black to me.

If you google "new guinea tattoos" you'll find photos of actual tattoos. Don't look much like what Maba has in-game, but the people vary widely in skin tone. Maba is probably intended to be a pale New Guinean, not actually white, but the lo-fi graphics can't include much detail.

The english seaman that literally had nothing to pair them up. But the "captains hat" guy threw me too, as I totally didn't think a gunner's mate would look like that.
