Not saying that it's the optimal way because some stuff is very obvious but especially for the more obscure characters I find it helps to have the complete picture first.
Thanks for confirming this is the case. I have been getting steadily more frustrated/panicked as I progress through the chapters and have only solved maybe 30% of the characters the game has unblurred for me. The way the game is presented in 'chapter' format being led from event to event kind of makes it feel like you've lost your opportunity to get 100% once you reach the end of each chapter.
Basically it's nice to know you can safely move on if you're stumped and still come back at any point.
