What does "DX" mean in the title of the game?

DX was an expansion released in 2014 which included 16 additional levels, a new overworld, and some changes to mechanics. I dont know if the actual letters mean anything.

It either is the opposite of XD or possibly deluxe. = )

it might be a homage to the japanese name for melee, which has DX (for deluxe) in the title.

I always thought it stood for "Directors Cut". But who knows with games these days.

DX is short for "deluxe". It's very common and has little to do with Melee.
