What was the angel?
Just watched Rakka and thought it was awesome. Loved the effects and pacing, and I'm always a Sigourney Weaver fan. One part left me confused though

At the end of the first act, the truck gets flipped over and the guy crawls out. Do they explain what the angelic thing he sees is? It seemed to me like another alien race that was coming to help. Before we get a proper view it cuts to the next act and we are introduced to the psychic kid.

Later on, during the hunt for the downed alien pilot we see a slow mo shot of the truck flipping over in reverse. I took this to mean that the kid had forseen the truck attack and prevented it, and instead leads them to take down an aircraft and kill the pilot.

That doesnt explain what the angelic creature was though. My theory is that the guy made eye contact with the alien and lowered his gun because it was mind controlling him. The angelic appearance was his mind-altered perception of the alien.

Thoughts? Did I miss something obvious?

I think the angel caused the first woman to get her head shot off before Notch sets off the bomb. Maybe he hallucinated. To be on topic, the narrator, Sarah, knows what the new alien is, but she doesn't say. She only says that they offer the human resistance some new hope for survival against an impossible enemy, the Klum.

lol - don't be a dolt. Just watch and enjoy.
This movie looks great, but there's some dangerous significance. You have to make sure that the audience cannot be controverted by antagonistic insurgent cultures. That issue needs to be addressed, but beside this issue, the idea that an audience can contribute to a story as it develops while being moderated by a creative production team interests me.
